DolomiteSport is also PatitucciPhoto

Dan & Janine Patitucci are full time, professional photographers and athletes. Since 1999, the duo have specialized in commercial and editorial mountain sports, travel and lifestyle photography for clients such as National Geographic Adventure, Patagonia, The North Face, Gore-Tex, The New York Times and many more. For years they traveled to the Dolomites for various assignments and personal fun. Finally, in 2007 they discovered the Sud Tirol’s town of Brunico, the perfect town in which to settle. The couple is literally out each day of the year doing one of the sports they promote. Both are super motivated, dedicating all of their time to managing their businesses, being athletes focusing on bike racing, ultra running, ski randonee racing and even saving a little extra time for gardening and studying Italian.

They met in 1999 while at Santa Barbara’s Brooks Institute of Photography. A Guru in India felt it best that she move back to Europe, thankfully for Dan she listened. Hi,
Im Sam, a 12 year old from spokane. I was wondering if you set up those amazing trail running, skiing, or mountain biking pictures. Or if you just kind of got lucky and was there at the right time to get those pictures.
Thanks
Hi Sam,
Sometimes they are set up for our work, to get the photo that we need to get, but other times they are made when we are out with our friends and they do something spontaneous. No matter what, they are all real because we do the same sports in the same places, sometimes we just have to go back with the camera.
Thanks,
Dan
Dan – The US Skimo team is headed over to Claut…you near by??? Stop by the race venues and show us your playground! Most of us will have “down time” and will be looking to do some touring …….How’s the snow scene over there….we are there Feb 17th – 25th ish. Cheers
Hi!
I am currently in Zurich and have my full-sus MTB with me and want to do the next six days in the mountains riding around. Taking account the current weather and the heavy snowed winter that most of Europe received, where would you recommend? I’ve looked through different sites and blogs and am thinking somewhere around Lake Garda, possibly further north up near Bormio or even around Como. I’m not really limited on where I go but considering I have a car and don’t want to drive more than one day…
I’m an ex-road cyclist and have a reasonable level of fitness and my bike is well equipped and I have a Garmin Edge 800 for maps. Once I decide where I’m going I will likely be finding accommodation on Airbnb although nothing is set in stone and I’m happy to hear suggestions! thanks for all your help in advance! Thanks and Cheers! Darren
Hey guys, wonderful to see your site and your passion for all things dolomite! I, too, have been blessed to experience these mountains as an American from the South who married an Italian in Trento. It all started with a sci alpinismo course and a lot of new equipment and now I am hooked. Would love to come visit you. I have been through Brunico for a ski trip but didn’t look much around the town… do you have a studio there?
Joel L
Hi Joel,
We don’t have a studio in Brunico, it is just our home base for now. Yes, easy to fall in love with this place, it has it all.
